This dance weekend has become a permanent fixture on the MMM calendar. For the past seven years a group of eager dancers have attended, maybe because of the friendly atmosphere, maybe because of the lively chatter and copious amounts of wine in the evenings or just because the dancing is good. Although a close group, recent years have seen the inquisitive student who has come to learn what this technique is all about, some of whom have returned to progress with their learning.
MMM is a dance training with the basics starting with simple technique. It teaches the importance of good posture and walking, correct breathing to enhance movement and a sprinkling of agility and balance. Body placement is important with all dance and MMM relies on the body’s natural opposition to develop free movement. Once these basics are understood, the student is free to dance, to express themselves and gain the tools to develop their own creativity. Our teachers are great choreographers and produce dances that are enjoyable in class, as well as for performances.
All this is encompassed within this weekend. The Centre encourages a relaxed friendly atmosphere with good hearty meals, especially the Sunday lunchtime roast. The staff are helpful and always around for a chat.
